Bunton (aka Lycan aka Lycan_Therapy) has, as we know, a reputation for being…somewhat annoying. Some people have more of an issue with it than others, and something that just happened in 19 gave me ideas.
(10:04:35 AM) Bunton: I like to think I've improved as an induvidual.
(10:04:45 AM) Bunton: Which is to say, become less annoying and creepy.
(10:04:48 AM) Bunton: And insolent.
(10:04:55 AM) Azzleflux: We all would, bun. We all would.
(10:05:06 AM) Bunton: Hrm. Anyway, how is everyone?
(10:08:05 AM) Bunton: Hrm. Quik, have you noticed me improving, or am I still as bad as I was when I showed up?
(10:09:28 AM) Quikngruvn: Bun, objectively, yes, you are improving. If you hadn't, you wouldn't still be around. However, carping on and on about how well you've improved undercuts your point significantly.
(10:09:52 AM) Bunton: Do I do that that often?
(10:10:05 AM) Tox|Laptop: You're doing it, rather annoyingly, right now.
(10:10:08 AM) Quikngruvn: ^
(10:10:31 AM) Bunton: Yeah, you're right.
(10:10:33 AM) emissary: Talking about how improved/accepting/humble/etc you are always undercuts your point
(10:10:34 AM) Bunton left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
This made me think about the line in the chat guide, under Principles and Banning:
Doing any of these things will probably get you banned if you keep it up: Being stupid or creepy.
Now, this is horribly subjective, which is why I suggest this - putting that matter up for discussion, to be acted upon if we can decide on a quorum number. Since it's a chat issue, I move that chat OPs be given more weight in this voting process. Not to say that site staff have NO say, but the decision-making power should rest with chat staff.
I move to levy some sort of ban on Bunton under that rule.
