So, because I've opened the approval process to other Admins, I figured I'd put this here so we all are working on the same page. Feel free to debate.

Things they have to have:
Age
Location
Password (if you don't know what it is currently, ask in chat)

Things that are automatics denials:
Failure to capitalize, or spell things properly.
Indicating SCPs are real, in any fashion.
Applying In Character.
Expunging or redacting any information.
Misspelling SCP.
Indicating there isn't a lot of room to wri- (Seriously, if you used that room to write instead, there's plenty of space)
Including real name or screen name.
User names that include SCP or O5

I'm not an admin, or active for that matter, but out of curiosity could you clarify one part?

Including real name or screen name.

Screen name, do you mean like an alias or…? (No confusion over the real name bit. That much is obvious.)

I'm not sure why it's bad that they say: "Hi, I'm Ken, and I want to join the Foundation," myself. Is there a particular reason that would be interpreted poorly, other than its been put on the page to not use your name or real name?

Additionally, there's the matter of the minimum age information. Are we 100% setting it at 15? Or does someone have a different idea?

Generally because I find it 1: silly, and 2; un-needed. We've already got a handle for you, that's what the wikidot username is for./

At the moment, it is 15. I believe we have discussed changing it to a clickable for "I agree I am a legal adult in my area of residence' for the new site?

Not an administrator, but: I think it's a bit silly and unneeded in itself to reject people for having silly and unneeded things in their application, so long as those things won't cause trouble on the site itself. (Using [REDACTED] in their application, for instance, would cause trouble.)

Mostly, it's because those things generally add up to a damned bad application. People rarely do just one thing wrong. (unless it's miss the password)

This. People who don't follow the application instructions probably won't read the Guides (or will ignore the advice), and therefore will proceed to do stupid things on the site. It's a sign of "I don't need any advice!" special-snowflakyness, and the site doesn't need more of that.

We were just thinking it might be a coincidence given that the person is also 13 and didn't read anything else before applying, they might not know there's already a Rights. Still, I think it goes without saying that a name like that would be an automatic turn down, I can't imagine any of us would let that through.

If someone registers with SortsIsRadical I'm totally allowing that though.

edit: no wait someone is actually going to do that now
