So much for trying to determine a consensus from everyone's commentary spread across several threads— I don't think I found enough responses for a quorum, let alone a majority, and I probably shouldn't try to interpret anyone's opinions… thus, this thread.
I ask that all Staff (Admins, Mods, and Senior Staff) vote on all of the questions listed below. I also ask that this thread be only for voting— we have more than enough threads for discussion. Voting will be left open till:
- On yes/no questions, a 2/3 supermajority of active staff has been reached, or all eligible votes have been cast (in which case majority rules).
- On questions with more than two options, either a simple majority among active staff is reached, it becomes evident that two items have a plurality of votes but cannot reach a majority (sending the question to a run-off with the two highest options), or all eligible votes have been cast (resulting in either a majority decision or a run-off vote).
Question 1: Should site membership be split into two classes, Contributors and Members?
- Yes
- No
Question 2: If site membership is split between Contributors and Members, should Members be able to vote on articles?
- Yes, but only to show general popularity— only Contributors' votes would count toward deletion.
- Yes, and both Contributors' and Members' votes count toward deletion (via a process to be determined).
- No, only Contributors should get a vote.
Question 3: How many votes should be required for an item to be moved from the Slush Pile to the Site proper?
- One upvote to move to the Site proper, one downvote to move back to the Sandbox.
- One upvote to move to the Site proper, multiple downvotes to move back to the Sandbox.
- Multiple upvotes to move to the Site proper, multiple downvotes to move back to the Sandbox.
Question 4: Should the Slush Pile be viewable and commentable by the community at large?
- Yes
- No
