Clef has been acting inappropriate lately- I've spoken to some of you about it.
I'll be honest, (and consider the fact that this is coming from someone with as big an op conduct blind spot as me) I do not think clef's actions lately have been acceptable, particularly in this case.
That said, the idea of irc without my little pony bullshit sounds absolutely awesome. Go, ops!
EDIT: A comparison was made in chat between ecks' porn linkage and the MLP spam. Break asked where the line was drawn. To me, it comes down to a question of attitude, both of the user posting the stuff in question and the community receiving it.
In all my time here, I have very rarely seen anyone complain about ecks. He links external sites, clearly tagged NSFW, and does not make a fuss about things. Pony spam, on the other hand, tends to consist of extended conversations, linkages, arguments, and memery that cannot simply be ignored like an occasional tagged link. So, the pony spam tends to annoy the users a lot more, and is thus less acceptable.
Additionally, when anyone asks ecks to stop posting links, he does. That's a level of politeness and respect that the pony spam, which tends to take place from multiple users who, as mentioned in the opening post, continue even after stop requests and even official warnings, lacks. Again, I think the line is clear- one is a user linking things they find interesting and treating other users with politeness and consideration, and the other is several users spamming and being rude.
