User Shadow9771, now Moist Spaghetti posted this seemingly innocuous thread in general discussion. Prior to identifying as a 'Right Wing Authoritarian' they linked this straw(man) poll. Options include:

Centrist
Left-Wing Authoritarian (Communist)
Right-Wing Authoritarian (Called Fascists by media)
Left-Wing Libertarian (Stereotypical "liberal")
Right-Wing Libertarian (Taxation is theft, ancap)

I'm not sure whether any actual rules have been broken here, so I'm posting this in non-disc. Quik locked the thread, so I figured there's people more qualified than me to deal with something like this. Just noting it here for the record.

I'm not a fan. There's a similar, keter version of this, except for the fact that the keter version self-reproduces itself. Grammar errors are scattered throughout. Get some rest, then work on it some more

Not bad, not great. It's good, better than quite a few other drafts right now, but I just have one problem with it. I just can't shake the feeling that this needs more to it. I feel like this would work really well in the earlier series, but wouldn't fit well in the current series. I don't know what's missing.
Besides that, the only thing I had a problem with was the redaction of the name of the events.

a "[REDACTED] event" occurs.

Usually, a code name is given to the event, meaning there's not much of a point to redact it.

p.s. For a first-time writer, this is really well done.

Fortunately, someone posted a much more thorough review in the same thread, and this user tends to post decent feedback overall. However, they do seem to occasionally make vague posts that aren't really helpful.

I find the concept interesting, but kinda vague. It's hard to understand what's really happening. It gives off a SCP-426 vibe where you swap personalities when writing. Two problems with this.
Clarity: After reading this a few times, I still am not sure what it's about. "Ant in the pitcher plant"? I understand that this is supposed to be read by people who have a deep knowledge of symbolism and allegories, but must of us on the site don't.

Tone: Sometimes, it swaps from the cryptic speak to something simple, like

Noise cancelling headphones have proven to be an effective counter-measure.

versus

The ant in the pitcher plant, notable in thought but dull in space, stares at a familiar face reflected in the chrome.

As you can see, one quote is super clear, while the other is very confusing and cryptic.

Overall, I'd really like to re-review this once the clarity problem is sorted out. I wish I could help you more on how exactly to fix it, but I'm not sure myself what to do.

In some parts, "origin" is still used instead of "original identity".

I'm running out of ideas for words that would fit in there.

Overall it's a really solid piece. Good execution, no grammar mistakes (that I saw), and really interesting and original idea.

It's an interesting idea, and I didn't see any errors. It's short, which is fine, but I feel like it could be a lot better if it were to be flushed out more.

Also, I feel like we already have something like this, but I can't remember the number or find it. I'll look for it though.

Dropped a C&D on the last two posts and sent a PM. Revoke on next infraction, successive bad crit and we move to disciplinary action.

I don't know if you remember me. If not, I was Shadow9771, and I was issued a cease and desist on the 30th of September of this year. I had given poor feedback multiple times in quick succession, which was entirely my fault. After my ban, I dedicated myself to improving my critique on the forums, and wrote tons of feedback on mainlist articles. So far, the only negative response to my feedback was from SoullessSingularity. He noticed that I suggested that the author should read both too many guides and too often, so I've cut down on the amount I suggest guides. In the time since I received the cease and desist, I've posted no less than 20 critiques on the forum, with no official warnings for problematic/vague feedback, which should show that I've stopped writing poor quality reviews.

I believe that I've greatly improved in the consistency of my reviews, and that I seem fit to be returned access to the writing sections on the forum. But, that's not up to me to decide. I'm very active, so many deleted articles have been reviewed by me, many of which being reviewed only by me. I think I can provide a big help to authors, since full-length reviews are becoming less common on articles (from what I've seen at least). Through my attempts at writing a successful mainlist article, I've come to understand how important feedback is, and the difficulties that authors face while writing. I want to help and contribute as much as I can to the community, but I'm limited due to the mistakes I've made in the past, mistakes that I no longer make. Hopefully, you can see that I've improved my reviews enough to be allowed to post on the writings sections again.

Sent back basically:

Posting a large number of reviews that did not receive an official warning does not automatically equate giving to good feedback.

The terms of a standard cease-and-desist are that the C&D will be lifted upon the individual in question posting a successful page of their own.

As I'm disinclined to lift a C&D solely based on someone telling me themselves that they've been giving good feedback, please provide some examples of reviews you have recently written so I can see for myself the quality of your current critique.

ETA: if anyone can/will vouch for this user's improvement and whether their critique is good enough to merit lifting the C&D despite them not fulfilling the usual terms, please post.

Just the opposite. I've come about a Chihuahua's butthair from staffposting on MoistSpaghetti's feedback multiple times. (At least 5 or 6, though I'd have to look up specific examples). It was just barely over the "not staffpost worthy" line, but I'd say it's not good yet.
