This is an update proposal for the Tale Series Archive page.

Proposed changes

• Match aesthetic to front page and others
• Slightly condense the list by publishing dates
• Add color-coding and status markers
• Add a separate list for Series with tag

Assessment

• Increase tagged series accessibility
• More information per entries
• Allow custom styling and logos for tagged series (maybe, discuss)
• All additional markers for tagged series block will have to be added manually

How does the CSS specify that a series is open and is it possible to turn that into a "show only open series" toggle? The primary appeal of the page would still be for readers of course but with a secondary benefit for writers.

After this update would it be viable to give this page more prominence on the sidebar? Given the state of the tales hub I almost think I'd want this to be the first thing people see when they think "tales".

Its already on the sidebar, after tales hub. i'd rather hold off on this action - this is only step one of three in improving tales related navigation, and tales tag need to be implemented.

Presentation is beautiful and easy to understand. I love it.

I do like the blurbs tagged series get — I think it’s more worthwhile to include a tiny primer regarding the contents of each series versus publish date/hub comments though. I’m not sure either of those things would be worth much to readers as opposed to some kind of description.

Custom styling and logos would additionally help out. Even something as simple as, say, an author being able to append a Serpents Hand logo to a series focused on The Library would go a ways to direct readers to the type of content they’re looking for.

Seconding Lord regarding a ‘sort by open status’ option — really, any additional metrics these could be sorted by would be nice.

It’s a limitation of listPages and enforceability - comments and dates are all that can be universally pulled.

Even something as simple as, say, an author being able to append a Serpents Hand logo to a series focused on The Library would go a ways to direct readers to the type of content they’re looking for.

This may be doable with the ListPages index, although it won’t be author-customizable, and I haven’t worked out the logistics.

Wow, fantastic!

Granting "series with dedicated tags" authors the wherewithal to edit their series' presentation via inline styling is especially nifty. Good stuff.
