As a result of Wikidot announcing that some degree of rollback will when the site returns, the Tech Team has requested an admin fiat to temporarily freeze the site when it does. This freeze will be used by staff to assess how great of a rollback occurred and — if necessary — make the appropriate edits in order to bring the site to parity with how it was prior to the rollback.
During this freeze, the site's comments, edits and posting will be disabled in the Wikidot Admin panel. As well, all policy on 05 will be frozen, including work on the charter and related processes. We will gradually roll out the restoration of these areas, depending on the severity of the rollback.
It is not possible to predict how long the rollback will be at this time, without information from Wikidot. If the rollback is long — such as several days or weeks — the freeze could last as long. If the rollback is shorter — such as minutes or hours — then the freeze could only last a few hours. It also depends on when Wikidot returns: if Wikidot returns at noon in Poland (GMT+2), that will be between three (GMT-7) and six (GMT-4) in the morning for most staffers, and as such the freeze will be be longer, as staff will have to wake up to assess the severity.
We hope that this freeze will not last long, and all staff effort will be dedicated to ending it promptly.
