Given that there is precedent in chat for banning users for one year for maturity, we would like to officially implement a similar ban for the mainsite in the case of immature, but most likely non-malicious, spammers such as these. In the case noted above, a maturity ban was placed in lieu of a permanent ban, which would typically be the usual response to repeated applications spam.
This kind of ban is not permanent and shouldn’t/won’t be used often. Based on recent applications trends, we will likely see this used once or twice a month at most. There may be more frequent use during major influxes of newer users, such as during contests like 6k or after major new exposure by content creators.
The most egregious cases of immaturity are really obvious, and we already do something similar on chat. This is a discussion to make it an official rule for the wiki.
