Anax approached me in chat the other day with a request. They're almost done writing a SCP that has puzzle elements with significant numerological components, to the degree that changing the slot number would require massive rewrites. Anax asked if they could reserve a slot so that no-one would grab it in the short remaining time it'll take for them to complete the SCP. When I responded that I couldn't authorize a reservation, Anax offered an alternative: a third party would post something in that slot and, when Anax was ready, I/we could switch the 3rd party SCP to a different slot, letting Anax grab the now vacant slot immediately.
I did authorize this method, by Admin fiat, and Anax has found a 3rd party to help out. Since this is a very special case and might be confusing to someone who doesn't know what's going on, I wanted to document what's happening.
Again, this is an extremely special case, entirely due to the fact that the SCP number is vital & central to the SCP itself, and should not act as precedent to allow any future "reservations".
