Basically, proposing two edits to the sidebar:
- make those collapsed sections permanently uncollapsed
- change the O5 link to the main O5 forums page
So recently there was some discussion that happened between a few staff and site members, and it's been mentioned that the mainsite's left sidebar is kind of unwieldy, so far as those collapsed sections ("New Member Info" and "Admin") go.
I personally don't really like having those as collapsibles, and given the posts on General Advice (and several PMs I've received) indicating that a decent number of newer members don't know they're collapsibles to begin with, I don't think we really need to keep that information collapsed.
Furthermore, the link to O5 is to the front page—and Black Moon jokes. One of the site members mentioned that it's confusing, and for people who want to keep up with staff activity and go to recent posts, it's hard to find the policy stuff if they're sifting through pages of trolls and minor infractions.
kaktus has already started putting together the requisite coding. I think if three admins agree with this, we could get it implemented? I don't see any reason not to make the site less confusing for everyone.
